[138] Maryland -3½ (-185)
Notes:
USILA Top 25: Maryland #5 ... Ohio St N/R
RPI: Maryland #1 ... Ohio St #35
Computer Rating: Maryland #4 ... Ohio St #30
Strength of Schedule: Maryland #2 ... Ohio St #23
2 teams going in 2 totally different directions ... Maryland is on a roll (10-2 ... 3-0 Big 10). The Terps are 5-0 at home this season and have won 9 straight (currently the second longest win streak in the nation) with wins over #6 Albany, #7 Navy, #16 N Carolina and #17 Penn St. Their 2 loses this season were to top ranked programs the first 3 weeks of the season (#1 Notre Dame and #4 Yale). Maryland has won five of six meetings in this series and have Revenge on their minds after suffering a 9-6 upset loss to the Buckeyes last April in the Big Ten tournament semifinals. Also a win today can clinch a share of the league’s regular-season championship.
Ohio St (6-7 ... 1-2 Big 10) are on a huge slide. Not only are they 1-4 on the road this season but they have also lost 6 of their last 7 finally picking up a win 8 days ago vs Michigan to stop the bleeding. The Buckeyes have only 1 quality win this season beating #15 Marquette by four goals back on March 4th.
Asking for a 4 goal victory at a chalky price isn't something I usually suggest playing ... especially against a team that has played Maryland tough the last 2 meetings. I think this Maryland team is quite a bit better than they were the past couple seasons and Ohio St is in total fade mode. Hopefully the Terps come out blazing and put the boots to the Buckeyes.
